Get ready to be absorbed in the world of charming stones and enchanting minerals!

At the Gold Museum’s Stone and Mineral Exhibition, you get to deepen your knowledge of our Earth’s crust. Sparkling fool’s gold, a curious tourmaline and a large amethyst greet visitors in the exhibition. The formation of the Earth is illustrated by charts and a periodic table of chemical elements allows you to check out familiar and less familiar substances, with their abbreviations. Lapland’s rocks and minerals have their own showcase — the beautiful gold’s companions are worth a look if you wish to find gold in nature. If you are sharp-eyed, you can also spot a glitter of yellow in a quartz lump!

The Stone and Mineral Exhibition is currently located by the Gold Museum’s other exhibitions while its own exhibition building is under renovation. Admission to the exhibition is included in the price of a museum ticket.
